Van Gogh Vodka Benchmark System
Van Gogh® Vodka Develops Benchmark System To Measure Its Vodka Flavors
-The First of its Kind for Industry-
ORLANDO, Fla. – According to Luctor International Founder and President David van de Velde, while significant to those in the spirits industry, numerical rankings make no effort to evaluate vodka flavors in a way that is meaningful to consumers. As a result, in 2006, van de Velde developed a benchmark system intended to calibrate Van Gogh Vodka’s flavors against recognized standards.
“It’s not enough for us to say we are the best flavored vodka if we are simply competing against other brands, some of which may even be sub-par,” says van de Velde. “Our rating system allows us to say we are the best because we judge ourselves against authentic tastes and strive to deliver flavors that consumers identify, prefer and expect.”
Van Gogh’s benchmark system allows cocktail lovers to compare it’s flavored vodkas to popular food items and encourages them to factor in aroma, as well as taste, to determine each flavor’s level of accuracy against the standard.
Van Gogh Vodka’s recent taste test of the brand’s 19 vodkas resulted in an overall average rating of 8.45 out of 10.
“If flavored vodka is to retain its lead as the most popular and fastest growing spirit, we owe it to consumers to have quality control standards in place to ensure we all deliver superior beverages,” says van de Velde.
