Van Gogh Vodka Adds a Touch of Color to Vodka’s Clear Palette
-Brand Features Trendsetting Vodka with Color-

ORLANDO, Fla. – Following the influence of the famous artist for which it is named, Van Gogh® Vodka has added a touch of color to the art of vodka distillation. Traditionally, vodka is a colorless, flavorless and odorless spirit. Like an artist, Van Gogh Vodka is defying tradition and redefining the industry.

First, the brand features more flavored vodkas than any other brand. Now, Van Gogh’s “cocktail in a bottle” concept has developed one step further. Three of the brand’s flavors, Double Espresso®, Pomegranate, and the new Acai-Blueberry®, challenge the status quo of clear vodka and feature color.

Van Gogh’s Double Espresso Vodka, the brand’s most popular flavor, was the first to feature color. This was the result of not being able to completely make the vodka clear without diluting the spirit’s rich coffee flavor. Instead, the deep roasted coffee color complements the vodka’s scent and taste.

In October 2006, the red carpet was rolled out for Van Gogh’s Pomegranate Vodka, which boasts a colorful ruby red. It too, became a consumer favorite as an exotic cocktail that simply required home bartenders to open the bottle and pour. Finally, Van Gogh’s latest flavor - Acai – Blueberry – showcases a royal purple hue, that allows it to stand out behind bars and on liquor store shelves.

“The true flavors and natural color allow consumers to create and serve an exotic drink by simply opening the bottle and pouring it in a glass,” explains Dave van de Velde, president of Luctor International, owner and importer of Van Gogh Vodka. “Now, they can replicate the beverages they enjoy in a bar, without the effort. Many bartenders and mixologists also like the impact of the color in their cocktails. It adds a visual appeal to drinks that clear vodka can’t deliver.”

Van Gogh Vodka produces the most flavors of any brand worldwide – 19 – including the three flavors that feature color, complemented by the clear Espresso, Dutch Chocolate, Pineapple, Banana and Wild Appel Vodkas, along with traditional 80-proof vodka.
